1. What DevFlow Social does
DevFlow Social brings content planning and publishing across several channels into one workspace. It helps you organise brands, campaigns, media and teamwork. One content item can have several platform variants, each with its own text, media and target account.
Step by step
- Open the application from the product page to reach your workspace, or choose the demo to start a separate trial environment.
- Start with the dashboard, then set up your accounts and brands before creating your first content item.
- The language selector changes the interface language. You choose the language of AI-generated content separately in the generation form.
- The Hungarian and German websites operate independently. Manage your account, workspace, connections and settings on the website where you intend to use them.
2. Try the demo first
The demo does not require a login or your own API keys. It creates a separate, temporary workspace containing sample data. Publishing in this workspace is simulated: it does not send posts to real social accounts.
Step by step
- Start the demo and explore the sample brand, campaigns and existing posts.
- Open a content item, edit its text and inspect its platform variants. Then try the approval flow and calendar.
- Look for the demo label. Sample data and simulated results do not represent the actual performance of your accounts.
- For real work, sign in and create your own workspace. Save important drafts separately because the demo is not permanent storage.
3. Sign in and create a workspace
A workspace holds your team, content and connected accounts. Give it a clear name and choose the time zone in which you work. This matters because dates and times entered in the calendar are interpreted using the workspace time zone.
Step by step
- Sign in on the website you want to use, then open DevFlow Social.
- If you do not have a workspace yet, enter a name such as “Example Café – Marketing” and select a time zone, such as Europe/Berlin or Europe/Budapest.
- After creation, check the dashboard. You can later change the name, time zone and default text model in Settings.
- If a colleague invited you, join their workspace through the invitation. Avoid creating a different workspace first if your intention is to join the existing team.
4. OpenRouter, Zernio and costs
These services have different jobs. OpenRouter supplies models for AI generation. Zernio manages channel connections and publishing. Real use requires your own access to these services. Website credits do not replace your OpenRouter balance or the allowance included in your Zernio plan.
Step by step
- For real AI generation, enter your OpenRouter key in the appropriate area of the Playground. If the application requires two-factor authentication, enable it in your user account.
- The workspace owner enters their Zernio access details under My account, in the Zernio section. The workspace uses the owner’s connections.
- To generate content while your browser is closed, the owner must also save an AI key in Settings, in the automation key section, and give the required consent.
- Check provider allowances and model costs before starting. In a batch, each generated text, image or video may incur separate usage.
5. Connect channels and accounts
The Accounts area shows the accounts you have added and their current status. A platform can contain several different accounts, so check the exact destination as well as the platform name before publishing. Available features depend on the connection’s permissions and the capabilities reported by the platform.
Step by step
- Open Accounts, choose the channel you want and start the connection process.
- In the official authorisation flow, select the correct account, page or profile and grant the required permissions. Return to Social when the process is complete.
- Check the connection status and available capabilities. Assign the account to a brand if that helps you organise your work.
- If permission expires or access fails, use the connection check or reconnect the affected account. Channels marked as coming soon are not yet available for real connections.
6. Connection limits and Full Connections
Two connections are available by default. Full Connections removes this website’s own connection limit for a one-time charge of 50 credits. It is not a Zernio subscription and does not provide an unlimited plan with the external provider.
Step by step
- In Accounts, check how many connections you are using and the current limit.
- If you need more connections, the owner checks their balance and chooses the Full Connections unlock.
- Confirm that the unlock is shown as active afterwards. An already active unlock does not need to be purchased again.
- If an account still cannot be used, also check the Zernio plan, platform permissions and the connection’s error message.
7. Set up a consistent brand voice
Brand guidelines help the AI maintain a recognisable voice across posts. Your audience, tone, preferred and prohibited wording, calls to action and hashtags work together to guide content creation.
Step by step
- Create a brand and describe what it offers and who it serves. A specific audience is more useful than “everyone”.
- Describe the tone in practical terms, such as friendly, direct, short sentences and no exaggerated claims.
- Add preferred and prohibited terms and your usual call to action, for example “Book an appointment on our website”.
- Select the brand when creating content. If you work for several clients, check the brand and target accounts before saving each item.
8. Plan a campaign
A campaign groups content around a shared goal, such as a product launch, an event or a limited offer. Its status helps organise planning. Creating a campaign does not, by itself, publish its posts.
Step by step
- In Campaigns, enter a clear name, goal, date range, audience and associated brand.
- Describe the offer precisely: what it includes, who it is for and when it ends. Only include prices or discounts that you actually provide.
- If you generate a plan with AI, review its proposed topics, channels and dates. Adjust it to match your real capacity and commitments.
- Assign individual content items to the campaign, then review, approve and schedule those posts through the normal publishing workflow.
9. Create your first post
On the New content page, you can write your own text or ask AI for a first draft. The internal title helps you find the item in your workspace. Check the actual post text and platform-specific fields separately.
Step by step
- Choose a content type and complete the internal title, body, call to action and hashtags. Select the brand and, where relevant, the campaign.
- For an AI draft, describe the topic, product or offer, audience and tone. Choose the output language, model and number of posts.
- Select the actual destination accounts. Each target receives its own editable variant. You can prepare a draft without a connected account, but real publishing requires a working connection.
- Attach suitable media, read the result and initially save it as a draft. Submit it for approval once you have checked it.
10. Platform variants, previews and approvals
A content item can contain several variants. A LinkedIn post, an Instagram caption and a video title do not need identical wording. Review each variant individually instead of checking only the shared idea.
Step by step
- Open the content details and inspect the account, text, media and platform-specific fields for each variant.
- Check character counts, links, names, dates and offer conditions. Treat the preview as a guide; the platform also determines the final presentation.
- Submit the variant for review. An authorised reviewer can approve it or request changes. Edit returned content and submit it again.
- Before scheduling, confirm that the required approval is in place. Some variants become locked during publishing and after publication, so they can no longer be edited freely.
11. Calendar, scheduling and publishing status
The calendar displays dates and times in the workspace time zone. In production, a background process hands work to Zernio and updates the returned statuses. A scheduled post is not yet a published post.
Step by step
- Set a future date and time for the approved variant. Check the destination account and time zone, then schedule it.
- Use the calendar’s month, week or list view and its filters. After moving or rescheduling a post, reopen it to confirm the saved time.
- Follow the status: preparation, sending and processing mean work is still underway. The published state confirms the outcome.
- If publication succeeds only on some channels, inspect each variant separately. Retry a failed variant only after correcting the cause and checking the external platform.
12. Media library and reusable content
The Media library organises images and videos. The Content library stores reusable copy and templates. Uploading a file and publishing a post are separate actions: an uploaded file does not automatically become a social post.
Step by step
- Upload the file in the Media library and wait for confirmation. Add useful tags and brand or campaign associations where the form allows them.
- Choose the file from the library in the post editor. Check its aspect ratio, framing and relevance to the message.
- If the file type or size is rejected, prepare a copy that meets the limits shown in the interface. Individual platforms may impose further requirements.
- Save useful copy and calls to action in the Content library. Whenever you reuse them, update dates, prices, links and client-specific details.
13. Video Studio and AI Assistant
Video Studio helps turn an idea into a script and scene plan, then into a video using an available video model. The AI Assistant supports other tasks, including topic ideas, hashtags, adapting existing copy and interpreting results.
Step by step
- In Video Studio, describe the topic and choose the main platform, aspect ratio and desired length. Create a script first.
- Review the opening, scenes and visual prompt. Select a video model and start paid generation only after checking the plan.
- Allow processing to finish. Use the completed video from the Media library. If you closed the page, you can also inspect the background task in the bulk scheduling area.
- In AI Assistant, choose the task, brand, model and language. To repurpose material, provide source text or a video transcript and edit the suggestions before publication.
14. Batch generation and CSV import
Bulk scheduling prepares multiple items together. You can request up to 30 AI-generated posts in one batch or import prepared text from CSV. Start with a few test rows to validate your settings before processing a larger batch.
Step by step
- Choose the destination accounts, brand and campaign. For AI generation, provide a topic, quantity, model, language, first publishing time and spacing in days.
- Use a header row in CSV: date, time, platform, text, title, hashtags. Dates use YYYY-MM-DD and times use HH:MM. The platform field uses the platform identifier, such as facebook.
- This import creates text posts. A media_url column does not attach media; add files from the Media library to the resulting items afterwards.
- Watch the progress and failed-row count. Before importing the same file again, check which items were already created so you do not produce duplicates.
15. Recurring automation rules
An automation rule defines when content should be created and what it should contain. Generation time and publishing time are separate settings. Start with human approval enabled so you can assess the results of your instructions.
Step by step
- Name the rule, set its execution day and time, and choose posts or videos and the required quantity.
- Describe the topic and select the language, brand, models and target accounts. Set the publication time and the number of days across which posts should be distributed.
- The owner saves the AI key required for background generation in Settings. Activate the rule once the necessary access is ready.
- Run now starts real tasks. Review the resulting batch and content afterwards. Disable the rule when you no longer want future runs.
16. Team members, clients and permissions
The Team and clients area lets you assign responsibilities through roles. Available actions depend on permissions, so a missing button is not always a fault. Owners and administrators manage team membership and connections.
Step by step
- Check the email address and role before sending an invitation. The recipient follows the invitation link and signs in to join.
- Creators can create content; editors also handle editing tasks. Approvers can approve and publish content.
- The client role is intended for reviewing and approving work. Clients cannot create or publish posts, so they can participate without receiving full administrative access.
- Ask a workspace administrator about permission errors. An administrator role does not replace owner-only permissions, such as configuring the stored AI key or deleting the workspace.
17. Analytics, inbox and reports
Analytics shows performance data available through your connections. The Inbox handles supported comments, while Reviews has a separate view for available reviews. Platforms do not all expose the same information, and updates may not arrive immediately.
Step by step
- Choose a suitable period and comparable filters for analysis. Views, reach and engagement measure different things; interpret comparisons accordingly.
- Refresh the Inbox, open an item and check the account and text before replying. In a real workspace, sending a reply creates a real response on the external service.
- In Reports, select the start and end dates and optionally a campaign, then download the PDF.
- For recurring reports, specify the name, frequency, day, language, recipients and platforms. After saving, check the next run and the last sent time.
18. Integrations and important settings
Settings separates workspace details, the AI key for automation and access for external integrations. A workspace API token is different from an OpenRouter or Zernio key: it authorises another system to access Social.
Step by step
- Create a clearly named token for an integration and select only the permissions it needs: reading, writing, publishing or analytics.
- Store the full token securely when it is created, because the interface will not display it again. Revoke it when it is no longer needed or may have been exposed.
- AI optimisation supports preparation of future content. Continue reviewing previously approved posts separately.
- Before deleting a workspace, save anything you need and check external schedules. Only the owner can delete it, and must enter the workspace name to confirm.
19. Troubleshooting and a final publishing check
Start by identifying the affected action, account and status. A temporary loading error does not by itself mean the workspace was deleted or that you have been signed out. Do not repeat a publishing action without checking what happened.
Step by step
- For AI errors, check the key, provider allowance, model and any required two-factor authentication. Try one text item before retrying a large batch.
- For connection errors, check Zernio access, platform permissions and the supported content type. Reconnect the affected account if necessary.
- For stalled schedules, check approval, date, time zone and each variant’s status. If a post is already visible on the platform, do not publish it again just because the list has not updated.
- When requesting help, provide the domain, page, action, time and visible error message. Hide keys and confidential information in screenshots.
- Before publishing, check the workspace, brand, target account, proofread text, working links, suitable media, approval and time. After publication, confirm the actual platform result.
